Mac McKerral
Mac McKerral was born in Niagara Falls, N.Y., July 28, 1952 and died in Amsterdam, N.Y, June 1, 1984. He is currently getting from today to tomorrow as a journalist who teaches.
Occupation: Getting from today to tomorrow as a journalist who teaches.Career highlights: St. Mary’s School, 1976-1977: head basketball coach; team record, 11-11; third place in conference tournament; led league in bench technical fouls; conference coach of the year. Decatur Herald & Review, 1980: named worst speller in the newsroom.
Life: Never married, no kids (that I know of), never owned a home and last remaining McKerral in the family line.
Why journalism? Without a deadline and the accompanying penalties that come with missing it, I would complete nothing on time.
Why teaching? I wanted to be like Mrs. Morrisey, my second grade teacher at Infant Jesus of Prague School (IJPS ooh ah, who’s the best!)
